Research experience and Skills:

    Plasma processing and catalysis

Ø  Selective hydrogenation of alkynes using structured catalysts.

Ø  Development of structured catalysts based on carbon nanofibres/nanotubes

Ø  An economically feasible production approach for hydrogen by in-situ decomposition of H2S is under testing

Ø  A novel DBD reactor was designed to overcome the limitations of catalytic plasma technique.

Ø  Total oxidation of selected VOCs like toluene, isopropanol, trichloroethylene was achieved with the novel DBD reactor designed.

Ø  DBD reactor has been successfully tested for the photocatalytic destruction of TCE.

Ø  NTP treatment of waste water has been carried out for the removal of diluted VOCs.

Ø  An innovative catalyst based on carbon fibres was developed for the decomposition of ozone 

  Catalysis & Material science

Ø  Mesoporous MCM-48 solids were synthesized and characterized.

Ø  Alkylation of condensed aromatics like naphthalene was done using H-(Al,Fe)- MCM-48. MCM-48

Ø  Selective oxidation of aromatics over M-M41S materials (Ti,V, Cr andMn)

Ø  Successfully synthesized zeolties (metal oxides) on metal grids for industrially important alkylation reactions.

 Ø  First time mesoporous AlPOs were synthesized and tested for the oxidation of hydrocarbons.

Ø  Natural oxidants like air was used during the oxidation of cyclohexane over Fe-AlPO

Ø  Familiar with NTP plasma equipment ( built own plasma equipment)

Ø  Handled instruments like GC, GC-MS, HPLC, BET, XPS, FTIR, FT-Raman XRD, TGA, DSC, Micrometrics and familiar with SEM, TEM and 1H NMR and cyclic voltammetry
