Facilities
The Environmental Engineering Laboratory has been a part of the Civil Engineering Department for the last 19 years. It was established in the year 1989 under IIT-REC Network Scheme. The Environmental Engineering Laboratory is a state of the art, well-equipped laboratory that is able to perform most types of laboratory analyses. The Environmental Engineering laboratory consist of five laboratories with requisite bench space, instrumentation and other specialized equipment for the three laboratory courses offered in the B.Tech., and M.Tech. programme: Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Environmental Quality measurements Laboratory, Environmental microbiology and Engineering Laboratory, in addition to the usual analytical equipment and bench-scale treatment systems. Students in the laboratory courses also have access to the research laboratory's instruments when advanced analytical techniques are required.
The main objective of the laboratories is to provide state of the art facilities to the students for educational and research purpose. The laboratory has been set-up to provide basic and advanced practical knowledge to the students to provide deeper insights into the subjects. The laboratories are equipped with latest technological aids and instruments, full time power backup, adequate safety precautions and laboratory support staff to assist the students at all times. The laboratories are readily available to the students and scholars for academic and research purposes.
The laboratories comprise of:
- Environmental Engineering Laboratory
- Environmental Analysis Laboratory
- Environmental Microbiology Laboratory
- Environmental Instrumentation Laboratory
- Environmental Modelling Laboratory
