The one-day workshop on “Necessity of Calibration for Research and Industry Sector” was held on 25 th June, 2019 to explore possibilities for better utilization of calibration facilities.
Research scholars and faculty from the various institutes and persons from small scale industries participated in this workshop. Mr. S.S Ananthan (NABL accredited auditor) was invited as a guest speaker and he delivered a lecture on importance of NABL accreditation and overview about the calibration procedures under the guidelines of ISO/IEC 17025:2008.
Dr. M. Premalatha delivered a lecture on “Experimental error and uncertainty analysis”, covering the factors involved in measurement uncertainty and stepwise procedures for calculating the uncertainty. Followed by, the laboratory visits and hands-on training of Pressure, Temperature and Electrical calibration was given to the participants.
The feedbacks received from the participants is more helpful for upgradation of our calibration scope and to identify nearby industrial customers.
