The department is involved in carrying out audit for other organizations/industries based on
their request. The department is equipped with measurement instruments and necessary
expertise to work on energy conservation of thermal and electrical system. It has sufficient
skilled M.Tech (Energy Engineering) students as manpower, who will do the data collection and
analysis from the site.
Recently, the group had given awareness and training on energy audit for members of MSMEs
at Trichy, Karur, Namakkal, Puthukkottai, Nagappattinam and Thanjavur district under the
‘Promotion of Energy Audit & Conservation of Energy (PEACE)’ scheme of Government of Tamil
Nadu.
