Physiological Measurements and Instrumentation Laboratory
Associated Prof.: Dr. P. A. Karthick
The laboratory is part of the Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. It is involved in the study of neural and muscular systems and explore how these systems interplay in normal and clinical conditions. It integrates disciplines such as instrumentation, measurements, control, physiology, and data science for the better understanding of dynamics of human movements and manifestation of neurological and neuromuscular disorders. Our students and scholars will have an exposure to advanced medical instrumentation facilities in this lab for monitoring, processing and modelling the physiological phenomena for the diagnosis, prediction and prevention, as well as development of rehabilitation strategies and human-machine interface systems.
