Dr. K S S Harish

  • Dr K S S Harish is Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, India. In 2009 he received his B.Tech of Mechanical Engineering from the J N T U Kakinada, 2011 his M.Tech of Thermal Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Warangal and in 2017 his PhD Title from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. He is actively involved in various research topics in the area of Two phase heat transfer, Heat Transfer cooling, Heat Exchangers, Alternate Refrigerants, Cryogenic refrigerators operating with mixtures (hydrocarbons), Expansion capillary design, Vapor Compression Refrigeration systems and composite materials (material characteristics at low temperatures). He has published his research work in many international scientific journals. He is also the reviewer for international scientific journals, Science and Technology for the Built Environment, Vaccum, Sadhana, Journal of Enhanced Heat Transfer and Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry. Low Temperature Lab is a Research Lab headed by him in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology of Tiruchirappalli, India. He also leads a group which focus on Research related to flammability of the eco-friendly refrigerants, Heat transfer and different cooling techniques, polishing (different materials) techniques with low temperature sources, two phase flow of refrigerants and their heat transfer which involves the cutting edge technologies. He is also actively involved in the studies on Joule Thomson refrigerators operating with mixed refrigerants (at cryogenic temperatures) which have a wide application area covering the temperature range from 80 K to 300 K.
