OBJECTIVE: To study on the control methods through mechanical, electrical and pneumatic devices.

1. BASIC CONCEPTS OF DRIVES (8)
General principles of applications of hydraulic, pneumatic, electric controls-mfinitely variable speed control in hydraulic and pneumatics. Hydraulic principles-hydraulic pumps- chai-acteristics-pirnip selection-pumping circuits

2. HYDRAULIC ELEMENTS & HYDRAULICS APPLICATIONS (8)
Hydraulic actuators-linear and rotary- selection characteristics-hydraulic valves-pressure-flow-direction controls -applications-hydraulic fluids-symbols- accumulator circuits-safety circuits - design of hydraulic circuits for machine tools.

3. MECHATRONICS (8)
Mechatronics Approach - integrated product design - Man machine interface - micro sensors- examples of mechatronics systems from robotics, manufacturing machine diagnostic

4. PNEUMATICS AND ITS APPLICATION (8)
Pneumatic fandamentals-control elements-logic circuits - position - pressure sensing - switching -electro pneumatic circuits- circuits cascade circuits

5. AUTOMATS (7)
Semi automats-automats-transfer lines - automatic assembly - transfer devices and feeders- classifications and applications-job orienting and picking devices- setting of automats and transfer lines
