PSI Racing is the official Motorsport Club of NIT-T. We are a team of automobile enthusiasts, working hands-on to build an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) from scratch to compete in BAJA, an Intercollegiate design competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers INDIA (SAEINDIA). Students from all over India compete in multiple dynamic events such as endurance race, manoeuvrability course, hill climb, acceleration event and static events such as design, sales, and cost event. The team consists of brakes, chassis, suspension & steering and transmission sub-systems and the DAQ team.
PSI builds an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) every year from scratch for participating in BAJA, an off-road buggy competition series organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers India (SAEINDIA). PSI is currently embarking on a new journey for the club with the design of the first 4WD prototype. The club design and fabricate our own components and assemblies like the gearbox, wheel assembly, differential, rack and pinion and rotors.
The Data Acquisition team is integral to the team providing priceless data to validate our design and increase the accuracy of our computer simulations. The projects by the DAQ team include live telemetry setup for the race, the live recording of Continuously variable transmission (CVT) speed, collection of shock force and acceleration data using potentiometers, accelerometers, and gyroscopes.
