Architect Jacob Cherian from Place Design delivered a lecture on 13.08.2025 titled “Report to Ezhini.” The lecture was a tribute to his senior who played an important role in shaping his college life and career. He shared personal experiences about how mentorship and guidance influenced his journey in architecture. He also spoke about how sketching played an important role in developing his architectural ideas and observing spaces better. During the talk, he presented his works, expressing gratitude for the inspiration and lessons he received.

Architect S. Jeyakumar and Ar. Sushma Jeyakumar from Jeyakumar Architects delivered a lecture titled “Designing with Nature: Landscape as the First Line of Architecture.” In their lecture, they explained the importance of considering landscape and natural surroundings as the starting point of architectural design. They shared examples from their projects to show how buildings can respond to climate, site conditions, and the natural environment. The session emphasized integrating nature with architecture to create sustainable and meaningful spaces.

As part of Architectural Design III (AR211), the students attended a guest lecture delivered by Bala Hari Krishnan of Studio BHK, Srirangam. The session was organised under the guidance of Prof G Sangeetha and Dr Keerthi Manisha. He presented a series of his residential projects offering insights into design thinking, material choices and context responsive planning. He also guided the students on how to use AI responsibly and efficiently in architectural workflows, emphasising ethics, authorship and meaningful integration of digital tools within the design process.

As part of Architectural Design VII (AR 411), Ar. Yatin Tokas, of Studio Lotus, New Delhi spoke to the students in an online session as he presented his work on Adaptive Reuse project of Lakshmi Mills, Coimbatore. He explained about retaining the old mill’s industrial shell, brick walls, steel structure, and roof systems while transforming it into a walkable mixed-use public hub in Coimbatore. He stressed that redevelopment can preserve heritage and still create strong social and commercial value.
